AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A mysterious encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine cult.
The questline centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
